Edward Hambly (Service No 3359) was born in Queensland.

At enlistment he was single, 38 years old, worked as a farmer.  Edward gave his address as c/o A Johnston, Granville, and nominated his mother who lived at Shellharbour N.S.W. as his next of kin.

Edward embarked from Melbourne on HMAT A55 Kyarra with 6th Light Horse Regiment, 28th Reinforcement on 7th September 1917.  He arrived in Egypt on 19th October 1917 and joined the 6th Light Horse Regiment in the field on 10th April 1918.

Edward saw service in the Middle East and returned to Australia in July 1919.  He was discharged from the AIF on 25th September 1919.

Edward died in Sydney in 1957.

His service is commemorated on the Shellharbour Rolls of Honour and Memorial.
