Stanley Kendall lived with his wife Ruby and three children at Wingello Cottage, Kiama. A dairy farmer, Stanley attended Kiama Public School as well as Sydney Grammar School.

Stanley embarked aboard HMAS Anchises. According to his casualty records, he was in hospital twice during his service; once for 'septic heel' and the other for 'trench fever'.

Stanley was killed in action at the age of 39 and is buried at Hooge Crater Cemetery, Zillebeke, Belgium.
