Robert Wood (Service No 7750), was born in North Shields, England, around 1889.

At enlistment, he was single, 27 years old, worked as a plumber and lived in Corrimal, N.S.W. Robert embarked on HMAT A40 Ceramic, with the 1st Field Engineers, 17th Reinforcement, on 14th April 1916. He arrived in England and was sent to France where he joined the 14th Field Engineers. Robert saw service on the Western Front and has no wounding on file.

On 9th January 1918, he married Alice Baker, in North Shields, England. Robert was returned to Australia in June 1919, and discharged on 5th September 1919. It is unclear from his file if Alice was with him.
