Henry Hennen (Service No 4432) was born in Leven, Scotland around 1883. He served 4 years with the 6th Battalion Black Watch. Henry came to Australia sometime after 1912, and at enlistment, he was 32 years old, married, worked as a miner and lived in Tarrawanna, N.S.W. He listed his wife, Annie, in Scotland, as his next of kin.

Henry embarked on HMAT A71 Nestor, with the 19th Battalion, 11th Reinforcement, on 9th April 1916. He arrived in England on 7th June 1916,  was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with a double hernia. Henry was returned to Australia in May 1917 and discharged medically unfit on 11th August 1917.

Henry died in Bulli, N.S.W., in 1957 and is buried in Woronora Cemetery, Sutherland, N.S.W. There is an Annie McArthur Hennen, also buried there.
