Frederick Charles Barlogio
Frederick Charles Barlogio (Service No's 1830 & 3065), was born in Bulli, N.S.W.
At enlistment, he stated he was married, 38 years old and worked as a baker. In fact, he was 42 years old.
In January 1901, Frederick had married Annie Salisbury, in Redfern, N.S.W., and they had 6 children. He embarked on HMAT A30 Borda, with 1st Pioneers, 7th Reinforcement, on 17th October 1916. Frederick arrived in England on 9th January 1917, and was transferred to the Australian Army Service Corps, on 13th February 1917.
On 29th May 1917, he joined 1st Field Bakery, in France. Frederick was admitted to hospital on 9th July 1917, with a sprained foot but this turned out to be a fracture. He was returned to Australia in October 1917, and discharged medically unfit.
On 18th March 1919, he enlisted again, embarking on SS Melusia on 5th April 1919, as Reinforcement for the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force (ANMEF), Rabaul. He was discharged on 11th April 1919.
In 1932, Frederick and Annie were divorced.
Frederick died in Concord Hospital, in 1948.
