Jack Gow
Jack Gow (Service No 5584), was born in Dunmore, N.S.W.
At enlistment, he was single, 21 years old, worked as a bank clerk and had served with the Cadets.
Jack embarked on HMAT A14 Euripides, with the 20th Battalion, 15th Reinforcement, on 9th September 1916. He arrived in England on 28th October 1916, and joined the 20th Battalion in the field, on 13th December 1916. Jack saw service on the Western Front and was promoted to Sergeant, on 7th February 1919. He was returned to Australia in September 1919, and discharged on 29th December 1919.
On 30th March 1921, Jack married Amy McDonough, at Tweed Heads, N.S.W. The couple had 2 children and Jack returned to work for English, Scottish & Australian Bank.
Jack died in 1979.
Jack's brother Ernest Donald Gow (Service No 1207), died in Cairo, Egypt, in 1915.
