Clarence Gill (Service No 2122), was born in Sydney, N.S.W., in 1896.

At enlistment, he was single, 20 years old and worked as a labourer. Clarence listed his sister, Stella, from Wollongong, N.S.W., as his next of kin.

Clarence embarked on RMS Karmala with December 1916 Reinforcements, on 3rd February 1917. He arrived in Egypt on 11th March 1917, and joined 12th Light Horse Regiment on 5th May 1917. Clarence saw service with the 12th Light Horse Regiment, A Sqadron, in Egypt and the Middle East. 

He returned to Australia in July 1919, and was discharged on 6th October 1919.
