William Thomas (Service No 4911), was born in Bridgend, Wales. The date of his arrival in Australia is unknown.

At enlistment, he was single, 39 years old, worked as a miner and lived in Austinmer, N.S.W.

William embarked on HMAT A69, with Tunnel Company 4, HQ1, on 22nd May 1916. He arrived in England on 18th July 1916, joining 1st Tunnel Company in France, on 30th September 1916. William saw service on the Western Front and has no wounding recorded. He was discharged in London, England, on 21st November 1919.
