Thomas Richards (Service No 5758) was born in Corrimal, N.S.W. in 1895.

At enlistment Thomas was single, 21 years old, and worked as a miner.  He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A55 Kyarra with 1st Battalion, 18th Reinforcement on 3rd June 1916.  The troops arrived in England on 3rd August 1916 and Thomas was sent on to France soon after.

He was posted to 53rd Battalion and joined them in France on 16th October 1916 and saw service on the Western Front until the end of the war.

Thomas returned to Australia in June 1919 and was discharged on 4th September 1919.

A letter on his National Archives of Australia file indicates he was living in Bellambi, N.S.W. in 1958.

Thomas died in 1972 and is buried in Woronora Cemetery.
