John William Mawson (Service No 66248), was born in Helensburgh, N.S.W.
At enlistment he was 20 years old, single, worked as a boat builder and had served 2 years with the 37th Infantry Militia.
John embarked on SS Zealandia, with NSW Reinforcement 20, on 5th October 1918, arriving in England on 5th December 1918.
On 25th January 1919, he was sent to France, where he served until his return to Australia in June 1919. John was discharged on 22nd August 1919.
John died in 1973.
