William Scott Jolly (Service No 63756), was born in Helensburgh, N.S.W.

At enlistment he was single, 20 years old, worked as a assistant surveyor and had served 4 years with the Senior Cadets and 18 months with the CMF.

William embarked on RMS Orontes, with Field Artillery, Reinforcement 35, on 5th June 1918. He arrived in England on 11th August 1918, and while in training, he contracted pneumonia. William was admitted to hospital on 22nd November 1918, and remained in hospital for some months in a serious condition. He was returned to Australia in April 1919, and discharged.

In 1923, William married Elsie Shipp, at Parramatta, N.S.W., and they had 1 child.

William enlisted for service in World War 2 (Service No NX135002), with a Guard Battalion and saw active service.

William died in 1962 and is buried in Woronora Cemetery, Sutherland, N.S.W.
