Harold Marr (Service No 2684) was born in Thirroul, NSW in 1898 and attended Thirroul Public School.

At the time of enlistment Harold was single, 19 years of age and employed as a wheeler. He had previously served 2 years with the Army Cadets.

Harold embarked on HMAT A40 - Ceramic with 45th Battalion, 6th Reinforcements on 7 October 1916. He arrived in England on 21 November 1916 where he joined the 45th Battalion in the field on 12 February 1917.

Harold saw service on the Western Front. Harold returned to Australia in June 1919 and was discharged in the 2nd Military District.

In 1923 Harold married Gladys Mayson in Bulli, NSW.

Harold died in 1974.

Harold is remembered on the Thirroul Public School Roll of Honor along with his brother Frederick who also served.
