Stanley Jones (Service No 5796) was born in Woonona, N.S.W., around 1888.

At enlistment in Townsville, QLD, he was single, 26 years old and worked as a labourer.

Stanley embarked from Brisbane on HMAT A49 Seang Choon, with 15th Battalion, 18th Reinforcement, on 4th May 1916. He arrived in Egypt on 25th June 1916, and was admitted to hospital on 5th July, 1916.

Stanley was returned to Australia in July 1916, and discharged medically unfit on 18th August 1916, due to mental health issues.
