Alexander Melville Kinnell (Service No 63762), was born in Lochoyelly, Scotland, and came to Australia with his family in April 1911.

At enlistment, he was single, 19 years old, worked as a mine fireman and had served 1 year in 37th infantry Militia.

Alexander embarked on RMS Orontes, with Field Artillery Brigade, Reinforcement 35, on 5th June 1918. He arrived in England on 11th August 1918, and arrived in France, on 10th December 1918. He did not see active service. He was returned to Australia in July 1919, and discharged on 20th September 1919.

On 22nd September 1920, Alexander married Constance Edmonson, in Helensburgh, N.S.W., and they had 5 children. Alexander worked as an engine driver.

On 12th May 1941, he enlisted for service, and served for a short time with 16th Garrison Battalion.

Alexander died in 1951.
