Michael James Sandfier (Servcie No 58939), was born in Sydney, N.S.W.

At enlistment, he was single, 18 years old, worked as an electrical fitter. Michael was serving with 37th Infantry CMF, having served 4 years with the Cadets.

He embarked on HMAT A30 Borda, with 10th General Service NSW Reinforcement,  on 17th July 1918. Michael arrived in England on 27th September 1918, and served in England, on base duties.

He was returned to Australia in July 1919, and discharged on 20th September 1919.

After the war, Michael ran an electrical business in Woonona, N.S.W. and Bathurst, N.S.W.

Michael died in Queensland, in 1972.
