Private Ernest Fiddick (Service No 4421) was born in Maryborough, Queensland.

Ernest enlisted in Wollongong and at this time was married, 27 years of age and was employed as a miner in Thirroul.

Ernest married Harriett Davey in Gosford on 30th September 1915 and together they had 2 children.

He embarked on SS Feldmarschall with N.S.W. 7th Reinforcements on 19th June 1918, arriving in England on 26th August.

Ernest was posted to the 34th Battalion on 26th September 1918.

Ernest did not see active service.

He was returned to Australia in July 1919 and discharged in the 2nd Military District on 20th September.

Ernest died in Orange in 1967.
