Harold Curzon (Service No 6288) was born in Newcastle on Tyne, England, and arrived in Australia in 1911.

At enlistment Harold was single, 38 years old, worked as a fireman and lived at Helensburgh, N.S.W.  He nominated a friend, S Boyd Snr, as his next of kin.  

Harold embarked from Sydney on HMAT A29 Suevic with 18th Reinforcements, 17th Battalion on 11th November 1916 and arrived in England on 30th January 1917.  He joined B Company, 17th Battalion on the Western Front on 25th June 1917 and served with them until 13th September 1917.

He was admitted to hospital sick in France and then invalided to England where he was deemed unfit for active service.

Harold was returned to Australia in May 1918 and discharged medically unfit on 1st August 1918.  He was found to be suffering from chronic bronchitis and flat feet and his age was given as 44 years.

Harold died in 1942 and is buried in Helensburgh Cemetery.
