Thomas Farrell (Service No 1618), was born in Lithgow, N.S.W. in 1892.

At enlistment, he was single, 23 years old, worked as a miner and lived in Tarrawanna, N.S.W.

Thomas embarked on HMAT A32 Themistocles, with 17th Battalion, 1st Reinforcement, on 12th May 1915. After arriving in Egypt, he was admitted to hospital due to sickness, on 1st August 1915.

In September, the decision was made to return him to Australia, and he was discharged on 21st November 1915.

Thomas did not marry, and he died in Wollongong, N.S.W., in December 1942.

Thomas is commemorated on the Corrimal Public School Honor Roll.
