Edward Talbot (Service No 2922) was born at Thirroul, N.S.W.

At enlistment Edward was single, 27 years old, and worked as a labourer. He listed his mother, Maria as next of kin.

He embarked from Sydney on  HMAT A72 Beltana with 6th Reinforcements, 35th Battalion on 25th November 1916.  The troops arrived in England on 28th January 1917 and after brief training Edward joined the 4th Battalion in France on 11th June 1917.

On 11th October 1917 while fighting in the Passchendaele area he was wounded and evacuated to hospital for treatment of a shrapnel wound to his hip.  He returned to his unit on 6th January 1918 and served on the Western Front until the war ended.

In July 1919 he was returned to Australia and discharged on 27th September 1919. 

Edward died in 1965.
