Arthur McEvoy (Service No 3192) was born in Sydney, N.S.W. 

At enlistment Arthur was single, 22 years old and worked as a labourer in Wollongong.

Prior to enlistment, Arthur had served 4 years in the CMF and 3 months in the AIF. He initially enlisted in December 1915, but was discharged as medically unfit in March 1916. Arthur re-enlisted in November 1916.

Arthur embarked on HMAT A72 Beltana on 25th November 1916 with 45th Batallion, 8th Reinforcement. He arrived in England on 29th January 1917.

After undergoing training and hospital admissions, Arthur joined the Batallion in France on 7th May 1917.

On 7th June 1917, whilst fighting at Messines, Arthur was wounded in action. He was admitted to hospital on 5th July 1917 suffering from trench fever and shell shock. Arthur returned to Australia in June 1919 and was discharged.

In 1924, Arthur married Blanche Adlington in Wollongong. Arthur and Blanche did not have any children.

Arthur died in Wollongong in 1968, and is buried at Woronora Cemetry.
