Thomas Eady (Service No 60) was born in Tipton, England.  

On 4th July 1905 he married Nellie Brooks.  In 1909 Thomas and Nellie and their 2 childen emigrated to Australia and the couple went on to have 3 more children.

At enlistment Thomas was employed as a fireman and the family lived at Helensburgh, N.S.W.

He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A18 Wiltshire with Section 1, on 7th February 1917 and arrived in England on 11th April 1917.  Thomas was then sent on to France, and arrived on 14th May 1917 and saw service on the Western Front.

On 11th January 1918 he was transferred to the Broad Gauge Railway and served until his return to Australia in July 1919.  He was discharged from the AIF on 25th November 1919.  

Thomas died in Kiama, N.S.W. in 1930.
