Robert Jackson (Service No 1975) was born in Childers, Queensland.

At enlistment Robert was single, 26 years old, worked as miner, and lived in Bulli, N.S.W.  He had served 2 years in the Cadets.

Robert embarked from Sydney on HMAT A55 Kyarra with 5th Reinforcements, 3rd Battalion, on 13th April 1915.  After arriving in Egypt he was sent on to Gallipoli, arriving on 30th July 1915.  

Robert take part in the Battle of Lone Pine and some time between 7th and 12th August was wounded in action and evacuated to hospital for treatment, however there are no details about his injury on his papers.  He returned to Gallipoli on 17th November 1915, returning to Egypt after the evacuation.

On 2nd May 1916 Robert was transferred to 45th Battalion but shortly after, he was diagnosed with epilepsy and flat feet and deemed unfit for active service.  He was returned to Australia in July 1916, and was discharged, medically unfit, on 21st September 1916.

Roberte died at Wamberal on the NSW Central Coast in 1958.
