Vincent Maloney (Service No 3389) was born in Burrowa, N.S.W. around 1893.

At enlistment Vincent was single, 23 years old, was living in Wollongong, N.S.W. and worked as a printer/salesman.

He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A17 Port Lincoln with 11th Reinforcements, 4th Battalion, on 13th October 1915 and arrived in Egypt on 21st January 1916.

He was transferred to the Pioneer Battalion on 5th May 1916 and arrived in France with them on 25th June 1916.

Vincent saw service on the Western Front until 1917 when he was admitted to hospital sick on a number of occasions and was returned to Australia in January 1918 as a result of defective eyesight.

Vincent was discharged medically unfit on 11th May 1918.

On 16th May 1928 he married Mary Woolford and they had one child.
