William Flint (Service No 5399) was born in Woonona, N.S.W. around 1892 and soon after the family moved to Queensland.

At enlistment William was 24 years of age, single, and employed as a miner.  He had served 3 years with the Militia.

William embarked from Sydney on SS Hawkes Bay with D Company, 15th Battalion, on 20th April 1916.  He arrived in Egypt in May 1916 and went on to France, arriving on 8th June 1916.

William saw service on the Western Front until 17th October 1916 when he was wounded and evacuated to hospital for treatment of a gun shot wound to his arm.  

William died as a result of his wounds on 18th October.

He is buried in Reninghelst New Military Cemetery, Belgium; Plot II, Row A, Grave 14.
