George Latham (Service No 2881) was born in Manchester, England around October 1890 and arrived in Australia in 1913.

At enlistment, George was single, 25 years old, worked as a boat repairer, and lived at Austinmer, N.S.W.  He embarked on HMAT A30 Borda with 6th Reinforcements,1st Pioneer Battalion on 17th October, 1916.

George arrived in England on 9th January, 1917 and was sent on to France, arriving on 21st May, 1917. 

He served on the Western Front and was discharged from the AIF in London on 30th August, 1919.

George's service is commemorated on the Austinmer War Memorial.
