Percy Walker (Service No 2502) was born in Kiama, N.S.W.

Percy enlisted a few months after his brother Sidney (Service No 4323).  Percy was 25 years old, single, employed as a labourer, and lived in Albion Park, N.S.W.

He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A68 Anchises with 5th Reinforcements, 45th Battalion on 24th August 1916.  The troops arrived in England on 11th October 1916, and after brief training Percy was sent to France, arriving on 4th December 1916.

On 12th December he was admitted to hospital sick and did not join his unit in France until 8th January 1917.  On 7th June 1917 Percy was wounded in action receiving a gun shot wound to his ankle and returned to his unit on 16th June 1917. 

Percy was court martialled in 1917 for continued absences without leave.

On 11th July 1918 Percy was accidentally injured receiving a pick wound to his arm but returned to his unit on 14th July.

Percy was returned to Australia in June 1919 and was discharged medically unfit on 4th September 1919.

Percy did not marry and died in Redfern, N.S.W. in 1949.

His service is commemorated on the Albion Park Anglican Church 1914-1919 Honour Roll.
