Reginald Healey was born in Scarborough, N.S.W. around 1890.  In 1911 he married Irene Kennedy and they had 2 children.

When Reginald enlisted at the age of 25 he worked as a painter and the family lived in Sydney.  

Reginald embarked from Sydney on HMAT A14 Euripides with 11th Reinforcements, 2nd Battalion on 2nd November 1915.  The troops arrived in Egypt on 5th February 1916 and Reginal was transferred to 54th Battalion on 14th February.

Reginal became ill and was admitted to 14th Field Ambulance on 25th April 1916, but no illness is stated on his papers.

Reginald arrived in France on 29th June 1916.  On 19th July 1916 Reginald was acting as a signaller with 54th Battalion which was engaged in heavy fighting at Fromelles.  At about 8 am on 20th July he was in a German trench when he was hit by machine gun fire and killed.

There is no known grave; Reginald is commemorated on the V.C. Corner (Panel No 10), Australian Cemetery Memorial, Fromelles, France.
