William Huggett
William Huggett (Service No 5125) was born in Braidwood, N.S.W.
William enlisted after attending the Waratah March at Kiama, N.S.W. where he was living at the time. He was 19 years old, and worked as a spawler at the nearby Bombo Quarry.
William embarked from Sydney on board SS Makarini with 16th Reinforcements, 1st Battalion, on 1st April 1916. He arrived in Egypt on 2nd May 1916 and was sent on to France immediately, arriving on 17th May, joining 1st Battalion on 11th July 1916.
William was killed in the battle at Pozieres, France, between 22nd and 25th July 1916. There is no known grave for William.
He is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial at Villers -Bretonneaux, France.
William is also listed on the Honour Roll at Kiama, N.S.W.

Uncle
I am a descendant of William Huggett, he is my father's uncle. If anyone has photos of William I would love to see them posted to this profile.
