William Ryan (Service No 58887) was a single 19 year old electric moter driver from Port Kembla, N.S.W. who was still serving with the Militia when he enlisted.

William embarked on HMAT A30 Borda with 10th General Reinforcements NSW on 17th July 1918.  He was admitted to the ship hospital on the way to England and was admitted to hospital in England from the ship on 27th September 1918 where he died from pneumona caused by influenza on 30th November 1918.

Willam was buried with full military honours in Tidworth Military Cemetery, England, Row A, Grave 49, on 6th December 1918.
