Albert Roberts (Service No 59168) was born in Parramatta, N.S.W.

When Albert enlisted he was leaving behind 3 (surviving) children with his wife Ruby.  Albert was 28 years old and worked as a fitter, having completed an apprenticeship in  Wollongong, N.S.W. 

He embarked from Sydney with NSW 11th Reinforcements, on board HMAT A30 Borda on 17th July 1918. 

On 27th September 1918, soon after arriving in England, Albert was admitted to the Military Hospital at Gravesend suffering from bronchitis.  His condition suddenly deteriorated on 29th September when he suffered a sudden and severe haemorrhage and within 5 hours he died.

Albert is buried with full military honours in Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey, England: Plot IV, Grave 12.
