Hugh Love was a single 22 year old dairy farmer from Kiama, NSW when he enlisted. He embarked on HMAT A25 Anglo Egyptian on 19th September 1916 with 21st Reinforcements, 6th Light Horse.
He arrived in Egypt on 24th October 1916 and was taken on strength of 6th Light Horse on 20th May 1917 and saw service in the Middle East. Hugh was admitted to hospital on 30th March 1918 suffering from epileptic fits and was returned to Australia and discharged medically unfit on 22nd May 1919, Malaria given as the cause.
In 1925 Hugh married Violet Walsh and was living in Kiama when he died in 1949.
