William Frederick Titchenor Anderson
William Frederick Titchenor Anderson (Service No 2370) enlisted in Goulburn, N.S.W. on 4 February 1921 when he was 29 years old. On his enlistment documents William nominated his mother Margaret who lived at Kiama as his next of kin.
William embarked for the Western Front with the 55th Battalion, 5th Reinforcement, from Sydney, on board HMAT A60 Aeneas on 30 September 1916.
William was wounded in the Somme in France on the 2nd of April 1917 sustaining severe fractures from a gunshot wound to the thigh and legs.
Shortly afterwards he was discharged from the army returning to Australia in July 1917.
William married Lillie May Whitton in 1921. William died in 1937 and is buried in Cessnock Cemetery.
