Lawerance Edwards (Service No 864) was born in Wellington, New Zealand in April 1887. He had spent 3 years in the Cadets in New Zealand.

Lawerance had moved to Australia and was working as a miner at Helensburg, N.S.W. when he enlisted. He embarked with A company, 4th Battalion on HMAT A14 Euripides on 20th October 1914.

Lawerance was with the first contingent to sail from Australian, and arrived in Egypt for training in December 1914. As part of the 4th battalion he landed on Gallipoli on 25 April, and survived until 1 May when he was killed.

There is no known grave for Lawerance.  He is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial.
