Edwin Morris (Service No 319) was born in Woonona, N.S.W. around 1894.

When he enlisted in Sep 1914 Edwin was 20 years old, single, and working as a grocer.  His mother, Martha, of Campbell Street, Woonona, N.S.W. was his nominated next of kin.

Edwin embarked on HMAT A33 Ayrshire with B Squadron, 7th Light Horse Regiment on 20th December 1914. He served in Egypt, but on 14 Aug 1915 Edwin was placed aboard SS Aquitania bound for London, suffering from dysentery and 'general debility'.  During the night of 16 Aug, Edwin left his bed in the ship's hospital ward and was not seen again.

An inquiry found that Edwin had been lost at sea and subsequently drowned.

Edwin is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial and the Bulli-Woonona War Memorial.
