Norman Mintorn (Service No 1586) was born about 1896 in Wollongong. His embarkation records show he was single, 20 year old, and employed as a clerk when he enlisted. He had previously served with the CMF for 2 years.

He embarked with the 17th Battalion, 1st Reinforcements, on HMAT A 32 Themistocles on 12th May 1915
He fell ill in Egypt and on 30th June 1915 he died of dysentery.
He is buried in Egypt at the Cairo War Cemetery, (B 312).
