George Nepean Rogers (Service No 2975) was born in Penrith, N.S.W.
He enlisted at Newcastle when he was 27 years old. George was married to Emma Eliza, who was named as his next of kin. On George's enlistment papers he recorded Emma's address as care of the Post Office, Thirroul, N.S.W.
George was assigned to the 46th Battalion, 7th Reinforcements, soon after enlisting.
He embarked from Sydney on the SS Port Napier with his unit, on 17 November 1916.
George served in France, returning to Australia, on the SS Port Napier, on 12 May 1919.
