Gunner Percival Meurant (Service no. 4618) was born in Mount Victoria on 26th July, 1886 and was the second son of Mary Meurant to enlist. He embarked on RMS Persia with the artillery on 10th August, 1915 and like his brother Walter saw service on Gallipoli.

After the evacuation he again saw service on the Western Front. Percival Meurant survived the war and returned to Australia in June, 1919 and was discharged from the AIF on 19th September, 1919.

Between enlisting and embarkation Percival married Adele Jenkins at Port Kembla on 29th May, 1915.
