Stoker Sidney Laidlaw (Service no. 4630, 4135) was born in Mount Kembla.

Sidney enlisted in the new Royal Australian Navy in 1915. He served on HMAS Parramatta as a stoker. Sidney Laidlaw left his ship in Brisbane and on 26th January, 1917 was discharged from the Navy.

On 27th January, 1917 Sidney enlisted in the AIF in Brisbane as Sidney Cordeau Woods. He embarked on HMAT A7 Medic on 1st August, 1917 with 11th Reinforcements, 4th Pioneer Battalion. He saw service on the Western Front and was returned to Australia in April 1919.

Nothing more is known of him until his death in 1950.
