Harold Edwin Biggers
Gunner Harold Biggers (Service no. 38318) was described as a 21 year old Clerk on his enlistment papers but in reality he was only 17 at the time. He embarked on SS Canberra with 32nd Reinforcements, 8th Field Artillery Brigade on 16th November, 1917. He served on the Western Front until the end of the war and returned to Australia in July 1919.
After his discharge from the AIF he studied Law at Sydney University.
He returned to England in 1929 and married Evelyn Cockayne. They resided in England with their family and he died in London on 18th September, 1979.

Harold Edwin Biggers
Harold went on to serve with the RAF in WW2. He served in Canada in 1942 - 1944 and his wife Evelyn also accompanied him for some time. Their daughter Rosemarie was born in Canada in 1942. Their son Deron had died in London in 1940. Evelyn and Rosemarie took the treacherous voyage back to London on the Rangitata, arriving in LIverpool on 19th November 1944.
